My Music Tracking Anniversary

The birthday of my last.fm account! I managed to score a play-count of 42,909 at the very last minute of today, with 品冠’s 重来 as the last song for the day. So I’m just going do some write-ups on my top 3 artists on the list!

#1. Darren Hayes
Play Count … 1291
Top Track … I Can’t Ever Get Enough of You
The number one artist on my list, one half of the duo – Savage Garden, I simply cannot cannot enough of his songs. I’ve been listening to his songs since the beginning of this last.fm account, and I never got sick of his songs due to a powerful vocal that describes every feeling I have. I prefer his first album to his second though.

#2. Westlife
Play Count … 1278
Top Track … I Lay My Love On You
I remember how I used to love listening to Westlife’s songs around 6 years ago, and amazingly, they remain as one of my top artists now as well. Their songs are mostly covers, but that’s the way I like it even after listening to the original versions.

#3. 島谷ひとみ
Play Count … 1174
Top Track … itsu no hi nika…
I only knew of this artist after watching a video concert of her performance of PERSEUS at a-nation ‘05. A beautiful artist with a strong and unique voice, I watched the same footage over and over again … until I listened to the rest of her songs. Since then, she’s my 2nd favorite JPOP artist despite of the late infatuation.

I’ve spent nearly the whole of today organizing my music collection, setting up smart playlists in iTunes, tagging newly added songs and lastly, listening to them. Currently, 6605 music files are cataloged in my iTunes music collection, totaling up to 39.21GB. My mom tells me I’m wasting space on my hard-drive, but I think I’m just making full use of it. But hey! She listens to my collection via network too!
