Burning Sensation

Things To Do:
1. Complete 4th Quaffs Template
2. Complete YCDance Blog Design
3. No more alcohol for December (Early to say, but really no)
4. Learn a second song to play with guitar
5. Get an acoustic guitar
6. Register a domain name

Lots of things eh? My priorities for now are designs, then guitar. Mom agreed to let me register a domain (woo, damienlockheart.com) but I’m probably gonna think over it. I am keen to have one but I still need to think it through.

I’m a little blur right now. One Heineken and a cup of Lychee cocktail didn’t got me drunk, but just unwell. Moments later after drinking, I realized the source of the problem – I am having a tummyache. And something interesting while I was like, uh, poo-ing. There was this radio playing, which is a chinese FM and the DJ was like:

“You just need identify 2 out of the 15 songs that are remixed together to win -music preludes- And to make things fair, the hotline will only be available after the songs -music continues- The song shall start shortly -music again- So sit back and enjoy -song plays-”

Why can’t the DJ finish what she wants to say? The music fading in and out between every line is really irritating. The songs are from local drama so I guessed I wouldn’t be able to identify. But well, I managed to catch the first 2 =) Can’t be bothered to stay in that washroom any longer so I just gave up the idea of phoning in.

Apparently, I realized rules exist for a reason. Written rules don’t really affect my judgement, but rather, those that are unwritten. MOX bar was restricted to any under 18, since there’s drinking. That didn’t stop us, but the unwritten rules was like “there’s generation gap in there, assholes!”

And yes, we got really bored. Aside from the drinks of course. The ladies that caught Shariff’s and Steven’s attention were older than us, so naturally none would approach or get on the dance floor. I was feeling unwell to notice what they noticed, but I get the general idea that guys will never see true beauty in girls before they (the girls) are matured.

And because we are kids, hence no cars, we relied on trains. There is such thing as “last train service” so again, we’re screwed. Then there are curfews for some. Even though it ends at 2AM, the verdict for us was: get home by 12AM.

Vandalism is cool, but not this way. The classic O$P$ (Owe money pay money), with apartment numbers and contacts. And that’s in my block’s lift! Damn. I guessed the guilty poor guy went to mosaic this apartment number to hide a shame. So there are still loan sharks… I thought they were extinct since 1999.

Boundaries

Alright! Got 3 templates approved but I gotta tweak them a little to fit into the new HTML codes. I realised that this job is quite a challenge, because of the constrains, I am not able to design freely as I always did. Working with the boundaries really made me explored new ways to deal with designs and codings! Well, so far so good, inspiration-struck for the past few days.

P.S: ESPNsoccer is not part of the design.

Okay, so those who wanna go to the Quaffs Launch Party tomorrow, meet me at Tanjong Pajar MRT station if you wanna or make your way down to MOX bar on your own. 8PM!

Yesterday chatted with Sean on Hamachi (LOL?), so he’s back in Malaysia. Gheez, one less person to hang out with already, damn. Tomorrow the dancers (and the people who play Guzhen) who went to China about a week ago, is coming back tomorrow. Arrival time should be around 10PM so pick ‘em up if you wanna (I don’t know which terminal though).

I’ll probably skin my whole friendster page once I’m done with my 6th or 7th template. Then it should be the time to showcase what I’ve learnt =)

Remember the song “here in your arms” I mentioned in a post a few days ago? I feel like screaming that song and dancing like those geeks =) Don’t worry, I won’t do that in the public.

Uglier

I noticed that ever since the end of O level examination, I haven’t really written something with my hands. While I was drafting a layout on my forgotten notebook, I realized my handwriting was uglier than before, and writing was such a difficult task. So I coped the load of text from Imation DVD-R box (co-incidentally beside me when I’m wondering what I should write). As a comparison, I wrote Chinese too and it sucked.

Guess I have to find some penmanship practice!

And for something absurd to tell, I took out the batteries from my wall clock last night. The ticking sound is somewhat annoying last night when I’m lying on my bed, so decided to take some action. =) I haven’t place the batteries back in yet, and it shows (and stopped at) 2:10.

Fade Letters Fade

My keyboard is dying out on me. I lost the visibility of “W,E,I,O,A,S,D,H,L,N,M,Backspace”. Well, since I can still type without much typo-error, it means that I have got used to the keyboard’s layout eh? =)

I’m probably going to sleep soon, which is much earlier than the past few days. I have worked on 2 skins for Quaffs for the entire day, so that probably drained my concentration already. Now I know why perfectionism sucks – you work on the same simple thing over and over again, and it ends up with a couple of pixels difference.

But there’s always great satisfaction when you are able to do something well. The satisfaction of being able to play a new song on guitar makes you go “oh yea, baby”, and a new skin is “phew.”

WLM Sharing Folders is gonna drive me nuts. 5 hours, and 0% synchronization for all the files. First it shows “trying to synchonize”, then 0% for the first file, and skips right to the next file and so on and forth. I wonder if there’s a software that works like it, useful for sending tons of files.

By the way, Cyndi Wang’s new album rocks. Favorite songs:
热爱 – Simply upbeat and gets me grooving. And it sounds really cute.
还是好朋友 – Depressing song, but describes a feeling well.

Pencils, Rubbers and Strings

I noticed that I have been making late posts recently, like 1AM – 2AM. I usually photoshop around this time so I’m taking breaks in between to make posts.

And yes, the picture above looks kinda stupid. It is actually a capo on my guitar, made of pencils and elastic bands that I scoop right out of my drawers. I’m too lazy to go out to get a capo-fret so I just made up one (while referring to some guide I found on google). Stupid, but it works, so I have no complains since it’s just for practicing at home.

While picking up guitar, I finally believed in “practice makes perfect.” That line actually made no sense to me for as long as I can remember about my life until now.

December with S Cube-d

Don’t probe me about the post title, it’s kinda random unless you get the meaning.

While waiting for the rest, I went to Jurong East Arcade to play some games. So when everyone finally assembled an hour later (we were supposed to meet at 11AM), we made our way down to the new mall at Kallang! Before Sianglin came, we were guessing what will the color of her shirt be. Everyone guessed jeans, but she wore skirt! Darn. And Sean guessed correctly, pink.

It has been really long since I went to Kallang. The new mall has been established (Leisure Park) and boy, it was darn empty! Today’s the opening day, and of everything, bowling is closed due to competition and KBOX is under renovation. We had to choice but to take photographs here and there. If you wanna see more photographs, check this post a few days later =) I am only showing a selected few. At Suntect City, we also played with the fountain! Just so beautiful.

We’re the unholy knights of the fairy!

Took photographs on the water again! So walked our way to Esplanade shortly, took photographs and then boarded the MRT. Look at the beautiful artworks at the under-pass to Esplanade, and 3 of us imitated the models! LOL.

Something kinda took us aback. While on our way to Kallang, we saw this Caucasian guy on the train who is really tall (about 2 heads higher than me). We alighted at different stops and on our way back, we boarded the same train as him again! Singapore is sure a small place!

On the train, we were really noisy. Sianglin can’t help but to disturb us but I was not entertaining them =) I’m the kind of people who prefer to maintain good behavior in public Sean and I then went to play LAN at Clementi!

He pwned the counter-strike game other people hosted, getting 57+ kills in the end while the rest ended with 27. And for the record, he entered the game mid-way! Wow. But since I was pwned so badly (died 30 over times and killed 3), we switched to DOTA. Both of us teamed against AI, won 2 of 3 games. In the 2nd game, it was 2 on 4 on AI+! We were attacked so badly that the game should have ended 30 minutes earlier. It was really a very good game, really enjoyed it.

This is probably the last time in this year that I’m gonna see Sean since he is leaving already. If I put the timeline right, I have only known him well for 1 year and 3-4 months. But it is amazing how close we have become… I’m gonna write about this tomorrow.

One of the best damn outing I ever had. Truly.

Green Day

Today was late for LAN gaming with Sean, Dominic, Auggie, Steven and Junjie. Was owned in counterstrike games but Sean, Steven and I dominated DOTA. Zeus rocks, and thankfully Sean guided me using that hero yesterday. I’m a n00b at DOTA by the way.

We went to join Ze Yi, Joel, Alex, Edward, Hong Yong and the birthday boym Cazua at Superbowl. Played many rounds of Daytona, and I was wondering why the birthday boy didn’t paid for the expenses today =)

Bowling was our next activity, and our team (Alex, Sean and I) won with overall points. Both of them are pro-s! Then played pool, and saw Sean and Steven playing downstairs. Ze Yi was having fun with Steven, really! Look at the compilation above, hehe. Steven is pwned by Ze Yi, war of the greens!

Damn tired, darn sleepy. Yawns. Happy Birthday Cazua!
